The book "COVID-19 - The Start of the Economy - The Day After Tomorrow" is now available in digital format.
In compliance with its constitutional obligation to debate, in a plurality of opinions, the major themes of the country's economic and social life, the Economic and Social Council has created this collection "Meetings and Debates" with a view to collecting and making available pertinent information.
We gather here the papers presented at the Conference "COVID-19 - The Start of the Economy - The day after tomorrow", which took place in the "Cycle of Conferences" via online on June 3rd, 2020, at the initiative of the ESC, with the collaboration of the social partners and specialists.
The conference discussed the economic conditions in Portugal in the post-pandemic period and the challenges to be overcome. Global trends that emerged or accelerated due to the pandemic and European responses to them were discussed. Finally, measures were discussed for Portugal to insert itself in the trends accelerated by the pandemic, through innovation in sectors.
