The Portuguese Institute of Direct Selling (IPVD), states that 2020 also saw a double-digit increase (12%) in the number of new agents operating through this distribution and marketing model that relies on independent sellers in direct contact with consumers.
Sales growth
Growth in direct sales in 2020, in a global context of reduced consumption, occurred in most European countries, with the exception of Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Romania and Ukraine. Ahead of Portugal, only the United Kingdom (45%), Ireland (23.3%) and Slovenia (16.4%) showed more robust growth compared to the previous year.
