The first two calls for proposals of the Portugal 2030 Incentive Schemes have already been launched. These aim to support productive innovation in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the mainland (North, Center, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve regions), to the amount of 400 M€:
- SICE - Productive Innovation - Other Territories (275 M€)
- SICE - Productive Innovation - Low Density Territories (125 M€)
The projects must be aligned with the following action typologies:
- Creating a new establishment;
- Increasing the capacity of an existing facility;
- Diversification of an establishment's production into products not previously produced at the establishment;
- Fundamental change to the overall production process of an existing facility.
The projects will have to contribute to the improvement of the productive capacities of SMEs and to the development of innovative, digital and sustainable solutions, mainly based on R&D results and the increase of qualified employment.
Other relevant data:
- The calls for tenders are directed only at SMEs;
- The application period runs until December 15, 2023, and is spread over 4 phases;
- The first two stages are exclusively for SMEs that have submitted RPA (Registration of Application for Aid);
- The maximum co-financing rate is 40% (non-refundable);
- Expenses with the intervention of certified accountants or statutory auditors in the validation of expenditure of payment requests are eligible.
